So is it the timing tensioner looks like? Normally Kancil L5 turbo owner looking for the timing chain, they will look for the tensioner as well, and I had no idea what is that tensioner looks like.
But found this timing tensioner for Toyota Levin 20 Valve 4A-GE black top engine, is it similar for those using in Daihatsu JB-JL? Or is it can be modified to install on Daihatsu JB-JL?

Toyota 18RG engine is not common in Malaysia market, it is learn that it install on Celica or Carina GT 2000 model like RA63A, RA63B, RT132, RX63, RT141 and MX63, which is production in the year around 1977 to 1981.
So when it happen that I need to source something that is not in my stock list, so the simple way is I try to "Google" around, and for my surprise, I found that actually there are metal type of cylinder head gasket for this 18R-GEU engine.
Anyway, I think it will be quite lucky to find a gasket set on this model in Malaysia, if there are any chances for an inquiry, most probably may come from Sabah or Sarawak.

Toyota Wellfire 3.5 V6 power by 2GR-FE engine, having a very special waterpump design, by just looking at the waterpump gasket, which the material is metal, you know that it is not like other metal waterpump gasket that you can simply replace with paper gasket type of material.
Probably one of the most expensive waterpump gasket (In passenger car range) I known so far, and may be hardly need to replace only the gasket, unless it reach the time to change the whole waterpump assembly.

When mostly dealing with the passenger car engine gasket, the most extend normally will carry some small truck or light commercial truck engine gasket, and normally going for the 4 cylinder engine model.
For example, in Isuzu range of truck, it is normal for passenger car engine gasket dealer to carry until model like 4HF1, 4HG1, 4HJ1 and 4HK1 of gasket, but the latest Isuzu truck model that launching in Malaysia recently, like the Isuzu FVR 34 model, is installed with 6HK1 engine.
Actually this 6H series of engine is mostly similar with the 4H series and the only difference may be is they have 2 extra cylinder as such made other gasket parts also longer than the 4H series.
And sometime this 6HK1 may fall just in the middle, whereby small passenger car dealer think it is too big for them to stock it, and the big truck dealer think it is too small to stock it, so what do you think should it fall to which dealer territory?

Some metal cylinder head gasket, you may notice that there are notches on them, so what is the meaning on that notches?
Actually the notches is the indicator on the thickness of the said cylinder head gasket, normally, if an engine head gasket is first time dismantle from the engine head, and original head gasket may don't have any notch on that gasket, and if the engine head is skim during the repairing, they might need thicker head gasket on that purpose, and the thickness may vary on how much the engine head is skim.
The above photo showing the Nissan YD25DDT engine diagram which it show the thickness with the notches count on the head gasket.
For this cylinder head gasket, it's thickness is 0.9mm and there are no notch appear on the gasket, and every added notches will add another 0.025mm thickness on it, until the thickest in the OEM specification which is 1.025mm thick with 5 notches indicator. Bear in mind that this thickness is just from the OEM specification point of view, it is not surprise that after market gasket manufacturer may developed a more thicker gasket as the demand from market, which I think 1.5mm to 2.00mm range may possible have the demand.
