Proton X50 Rocker Cover Gasket

 

Most of us all known that Proton X50 is using a 3 cylinder turbo engine which is use in Volvo new XC40, but still find its rocker cover design is quite unique in the aspect of its size, if by just looking at the cylinder head gasket and the rocker cover gasket, it seems the rocker cover covering area is smaller than the cylinder head gasket covering area.

Nissan VQ37VHR Valve Cover Gasket and Plug Seal

Unlike the VQ35DE series of engine, the Nissan 370Z Z34, Skyline G37 and Infinity Q50 is using the VQ37VHR engine, the rocker cover gasket may be just looks like other normal rocker cover gasket, but the plug seal is not using the 6 pieces type of oil seal type seal which use in the VQ35DE series.

The below photo is show this plug seal looks like. And the photo below the plug seal showing one side of the valve cover gasket for this V6 engine.

 

Nissan Primera P12 SR20VE Overhaul Gasket Kit

Nissan Primera P12 model with SR20VE engine is said to be most common engine with NEO VVL (Nissan Ecology Oriented Variable Valve and Timing).

There are another 2 type of SR series engine with VVL which is SR16VE and SR20VET, SR16VE gasket content is mostly similar to the SR20VE which there are slight different in intake manifold gasket design, and the cylinder head gasket for SR16VE is carbon material while SR20VE is multi layer steel type of head gasket.

For SR20VET the basic gasket content is exactly same with the SR20VE but may be have extra few pieces of gasket for the turbocharger side. 
 

Toyota 2AZ-FE Idle Speed Valve Gasket

Idle speed valve gasket normally is just have plain rubber seal, but for this Toyota 2AZ-FE idle speed valve gasket, which found in model like Toyota Alphard ANH10, Harrier ACU30 and Estima ACR30 have a very cool designed which one of the hole have a very unique type of metal filtration design.

Nissan Teana J32 Rocker Cover Gasket (Or Plug Seal?)

The rocker cover gasket of Nissan Teana J32 2.5 V6 engine with engine code of VQ25DE, have something different from the A32 and A33 model, in the rocker cover photo above, there are 2 extra holes pointed with the arrow, which there are 2 pieces of rubber seal needed for this place, I seen it may call as rocker cover grommet, or rocker cover gasket #2, but some of them may call it as plug seal, which I think it is not so suitable as the plug seal should be refer to the 3 holes at the rocker cover there which connected to the spark plug.

For the below photo, you may found the photo of one of the rocker cover gasket grommet, as this 2 pieces grommet in the rocker cover are with 2 different part number that can't be interchanged between them.

 

 

Chevrolet Captiva 2.4 EGR Valve Adapter Gasket

Inside the Chevrolet Captiva 2.4 gasket kit, you will found a very special gasket which looks like above photo, they call it EGR valve adapter gasket, although in Chevrolet model Optra 1.8 and the Opel Frontera 2.2 model also have similar gasket, but the Captiva 2.4 type have an extra hole that enhance with o-ring on it.

And for overseas market where the Suzuki have some joint venture model with the Chevrolet, there are some Suzuki model out there came with this Chevrolet engine. So it is not s surprise to see this items in Suzuki genuine part label packing.

 

Proton X50 Overhaul Gasket Kit

Proton X50 model is currently consider one of the popular selling model in Malaysia market, at the time of writing, currently the waiting delivery queue for new car may take up to 6 months long. But today we not talking about how popular for this model, and let's have a look for the interesting fact for this engine.

Since Geely taking up 51% shareholding in Proton, they already first introduce the Proton X70 which is originally from Geely Boyue with their own JLH-4G18TD. Coming to Proton X50, they introduce the JLH-3G15TD engine for it, and what interesting us is this 3 cylinder engine is actually a Volvo Engine Architecture design, which it also use in Volvo XC40 with Volvo engine code of B3154T.

And on 9th June 2022, Proton announce that the 2022 Proton X70 will have new option that come with this JLH-3G15TD engine. 

 

2 types of Nissan ZD30DDT Cylinder Head Gasket

Nissan engine code ZD30DDTi can be found in Malaysia Nissan Urvan 3.0 E25 model, other country may found it in their Frontier or Safari model, in earlier post we already show there 2 types of glow plug seal for this model, in this post we take a look on the different found in 2 types of ZD30DDT cylinder head gasket. 

The upper piece is the first type and the bottom one is develop in the later version, at a glance you may feel both piece are same, until when you compare it carefully.
 

Maxus LDV G10 Overhaul Gasket Kit

We continue with the introduce of non Japanese model gasket in this post, in our previous post, we introduce the Maxus Weststar V80 overhaul gasket kit content where this is a diesel engine, the post can be found in the link here.

In this post, let's take a look at the overhaul gasket kit content for another Maxus model, this time is a 2.0 petrol engine which they call it Maxus LDV G10 model.

The content on this petrol engine gasket seems more simple than the diesel type, it seems there are no rocker cover gasket found in this kit, more eye catching I think is the flywheel oil seal that have a big metal housing on it.
 

Chevrolet Sonic 1.4 Overhaul Gasket

Some time, it is quite interesting when customer try to inquire us some non Japanese car model gasket, one of the recent sourcing is the Chevrolet Sonic 1.4 overhaul gasket kit.

At a glance, it seems the gasket content not too complicated, but some continental model especially Chevy seems like to design their oil pump gasket (or may be some call it timing gasket) in a slightly thick metal sheet with rubber seal on top of the surface along the important sealing area. This type of oil pump gasket it may cost higher than other gasket content in this gasket kit.  

 

JAC N75 Overhaul Gasket Kit

In this post, lets have a looks on this Foton Cummins ISF 3.8 engine, which is use in one of the China made light commercial truck for JAC N75 model.

 

Nissan Urvan 3.0 E25 Glow Plug Seal

Let's have a look for this 2 type of Nissan glow plug seal, both are found in Nissan Urvan 3.0 with ZD30DDT engine, it seems looks similar and look at it closer, the left side is with part number of 13276-2W202 and the right side is 13276-DB000.

When compare carefully, 13276-DB000 height is slightly higher than the 13276-2W202, and the 13276-2W202 have a screw thread like body while the 13276-DB000 is more on locking with the clip type of design. 

And the bottom surface of this 2 type of glow plug seal is also diffrent.

Beside in ZD30DDT engine, those Nissan Frontier, Navara model with YD25DDT engine also have the similar glow plug seal.

 

Nissan X-Trail T31 Murano Z51 Top Set Gasket Kit

Nissan X-Trail T31 which is under QR25DE engine code, seems using the same engine code like its previous old T30 model, but there are quite some of the gasket is not interchangeable between them, like the rocker cover gasket and intake manifold gasket. 

And interestingly, one of the Murano 2.5 Z51 model is using this T31 model engine, so this Murano model engine gasket is just exactly same like the T31 model. 

By the time we write this post, we already have customer that are looking for Nissan X-Trail T32 model gasket kit, Nissan T32 model which have 2 engine of 2.0 and 2.5 is using MR20DD engine and QR25DE engine reepectively, which this QR25DE version of gasket is different from T30 and T31 model as well. 
 

Toyota FJ Cruiser Cylinder Head Gasket

Toyota FJ Cruiser (GSJ10/15) in install with 1GR-FE engine, unlike other GR series of engine, which is consider more popular, like for 4GR-FE in Toyota Mark X and 2GR-FE in Toyota Vellfire, the 3,956cc 1GR-FE engine most probably is seen in Toyota FJ Cruiser only in Malaysia market, although there are others Toyota model that using 1GR-FE engine which you can have a look here, 

Interestingly, both 1GR-FE and 2GR-FE have the same bore diameter of 94mm, which their different is the stroke for 1GR-FE is 95mm and 2GR-FE is 83mm, but their head gasket have different part number, they looks very similar, and may need put 2 gasket side by side to check on their differences.  
 

Toyota Nadia Vista Intake Manifold Gasket

Toyota Nadia SXN10 model under engine code 3S-FSE have a very unique intake manifold design if compare to the other Toyota 3S series of engine, it have gasket #1 and #2 as shown in above diagram, this 3S-FSE engine also can be found in Toyota Vista and Toyota Vista Ardeo SV50 model.

 

Toyota Vios NCP and Haval H2 Rocker Cover Gasket

China made Haval H1 is known to be using the Toyota 1NZ-FE as their engine, which is also use in Toyota NCP series model, their engine gasket parts are actually same for each other. And now is the interesting thing to found in the new Haval H2 engine, overall, it can be said it is a minor modified for the 1NZ-FE engine, most of the gasket is still interchangeable between the old and new version.

But look at the above photo which is the rocker cover gasket for Haval H2, you will find that the original design which the plug seal is attached to the rocker cover gasket (refer to the bottom photo on the Toyota Vios NCP series rocker cover gasket design), the Haval H2 design it as such the plug seal is separate in 2 pieces from the rocker cover gasket.

It is unknown that if the old type rocker cover gasket can be install on the Haval H2 or not, other notable change in the engine gasket is the intake manifold gasket, the old version of intake manifold gasket is using rubber o-ring type while Haval H2 intake manifold gasket is metal sheet type of gasket.

 

Nissan Juke 1.5 F15 Rocker Cover Gasket

Although Nissan Juke 1.5 F15 engine code is also HR15DE, but the rocker cover gasket is not same as the first batch of HR15DE engine which use in Nissan Almera and those HR16DE engine which use in Nissan Latio 1.6 and Grand Livina 1.6.

On the rocker cover gasket design, actually it looks similar to the first batch under OEM part number 13270-ED000, this piece with OEM part number 13270-1KT0A as shown in this post photo, have 2 piece small rubber lesser than the old version at its side of the rocker cover gasket.
 

Nissan Navara NP300 Intake Manifold Gasket

The Nissan Navara NP300 model, although still using the same engine code as YD25DDT which also found in their first Nissan Frontier and the previous Navara model, but their gasket kit have a lot of pieces having the new design, rocker cover gasket and exhaust manifold gasket is already not the same parts like previous model, but I feel their intake manifold gasket have the most eye catching changes if compare to previous YD25DDT engine, unlike their conventional style of making 4 ports of intake holes, this NP300 model design is more like those in Isuzu 4HF1 series of intake manifold design.

Mazda 2 ZJ engine Timing Cover O-Ring

The timing cover of this Mazda 2 and 3 under the ZJ engine code, have a very special o-ring at the timing cover which we mark at the above timing cover photo, and we can't find this o-ring is included in the overhaul set gasket kit. Since it is not in the engine overhaul gasket kit set, it may be include in their timing chain kit set but I'm not sure if it is or their timing chain replacement is done by purchasing all individual items.

Anyway, Mazda did service this o-ring for replacement in case the car owner just need to replaced that o-ring, under OEM part number ZJ01-10-673B,  you may find this o-ring design quite interesting in the photo below.

 

Nissan GTR R35 Plug Seal

Nissan GTR R35 VQ38HR engine rocker cover have 3 spark plug holes each side on the rocker cover as like the one in red circle in above photo, but one may notice the plug seal is not a service part under Nissan genuine parts option, although you may change to rocker cover gasket, it may be headache if the oil leak is from spark plug holes area.

In the one GTR forum, we found that some of the GTR owner had found out that one Subaru model crankshaft oil seal size is just fir nicely for the R35 plug seal purpose.

Although the oil seal price may cost higher when it compare to those VQ20DE and VQ30DE plug seal, which is under Nissan service parts, it still worth it if compare to change a whole new rocker cover.
