Mitsubishi Grandis 4G69 engine

The new facelifted Mitsubishi Grandis will be available in Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide by the end of this month. On the exterior, you have a newly designed front grille, front bumper and fog lamp inserts, while on the interior there are some changes like the switch from a 2-DIN head unit to a 1-DIN head unit.
The Mitsubishi Grandis is powered by the 4G69, a 2.4 liter MIVEC engine putting out 165 PS at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 217Nm at 4,000rpm. This is mated to an INVECS-II 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Grandis list of standard features includes power steering, power windows, retractable wing mirrors, fully automatic climate control air conditioning, dual SRS airbags, corner sensor, ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body, ETACS (Electronic Time and Alarm Control System), plenty of storage areas, and flexible three-row seating for 7 passengers. A DVD entertainment system also comes standard with an 8 inch LCD monitor.
The Grandis is fully imported as a CBU from Japan and retails for RM158,629.80 on the road without insurance, a big drop from the previous price of RM205,635.00 on the road without insurance. Colours available are Black Mica, Cool Silver, Medium Purplish Grey Mica and White Pearl.
The Mitsubishi Grandis comes with a 5-year or 100,000km warranty and a 3-year or 60,000km Maintenance-Free program. Owners will also be provided with a Mitsubishi Assist 24 card which offers privileges like 24-hour roadside assistance.

Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai Sonata make a quite remarkable present in Malaysia, although it is known as Korean made car, most of their model come with Japan engine from Mitsubishi Motors Coporation. From the 1970's model wth G32B engine until the 2000cc 4G63 engine, it s now have the luxury model in the V6 type of engine for 3000cc.

But still the 2000cc model is the most popular in its range, and the engine had also had been made some modification on the valve cover, intake and exhaust which the original concept still from the Misubishi 4G63 engine, you may notice the cylinder head gasket is same with the Mitsubishi Airtrek.

Ford Ranger WL Engine

We found there are quite a lot of crack problem on the engine cylinder head for the Ford Ranger WL engine type in Malaysia, the main course will be installing the cheap cylinder head gasket, which the material is incorrect and unsuitable for the engine block, by using the high quality cylinder head gasket, you may need to change the gasket next time but it will protect your engine block well.

So install ith the cheap gasket or changing the whole engine block, you may decide it.

Mitsubishi MIVEC Engine

Proton Wira is also a popular car in Malaysia, with 1300cc and 1500cc come with 4G15 12V engine and 1600cc come with 4G92 SOHC 16V
engine, there are 1800cc edition as well with 4G92 DOHC 16V.

Anyway, there are a lot of owner still modified it
to MIVEC type of engine which comprise 4G9series, they may be modification in engine valve cover, intake manifold, but the cylinder head remain the same with various series may using diffrent type of material on their cylinder head gasket.

There are many type of material for this kind of cylinder head gasket which range from graphite(carbon), ceramic silicone and multi layer steel(come with various choice of thickness).

Daihatsu Mira L5 Turbo

Perodua Kancil is a popular vehicle in Malaysia, many owner like to modified the engine into Turbo type which they are popular in calling them from type of L2, L5, L7 up tp L9.

L2 engine is very similar with the original Kancil engine with the added engine valve to 12 from 6, but L5, L7 and L9 type is totally different kind of engine, whereby their engine parts is not that easy to source in Malaysia.
