Toyota 2ZR-FE Plug Seal & Perodua Viva Plug Seal

 

Toyota 2ZR-FE engine first found in Malaysia Toyota Altis ZRE# model, and after that we have the Toyota Wish ZRE# model as well.

The rocker cover is designed as such it have 4 pieces plug seal on it, the plug seal with OEM part number 11193-0T020 or 11193-37020 which both interchangeable. The design of the plug seal seems looks like the Toyota Corolla AE101 type, or even looks like the Toyota Estima MCR# model, but both of them can't matched the correct dimension for this ZRE# model, so it is now seems they are on their own.

But wait a minutes, when Perodua Malaysia introduce the Viva model, which is to replace their previous Perodua Kelisa, with the same engine code like EJ-DE, but Viva engine is the improvement version from the Kelisa engine, at the rocker cover side, the Perodua Kelisa which using 3 pieces of plug seal, is actually same item for many Daihatsu model like use in HC, HD, EJ, EF, JB engine, but when come to Perodua Viva, we found that the Viva plug seal dimension is unmatched with their previous model, seems they are on their own in the Daihatsu model.

Now interestingly, the Toyota ZRE# model plug seal is same dimension with the Perodua Viva, so this piece of plug seal from initially may be a slow moving stuff in Malaysia market, become a fast moving item, thanks to the lift by the Perodua Viva.

Today we received a copy of catalogue from KP Gasket Japan, and that's the only one we have for our own reference, sorry to say that KP Gasket currently also didn't provide digital type of catalogue, but we believe that at current world of internet, most customer can find some gasket info they needed from Google search. 

Ford Laser BV2P Rocker Cover Gasket

 

This Ford Laser 323 BV2P rocker cover gasket, is also found in the same engine for the Mazda TX3 1.5 B3, B5 and B6 engine, but the most common type in Malaysia market should be the type which the gasket have 6 screw holes on the gasket, this piece with no screw holes on it some may call it the imported type, or may the second generation type.

In the early years when Kia start manufacturing car, one of the model Kia Pride also using the same engine from this Mazda model.

Honda Insight ECA1 Rocker Cover Gasket

The first generation Honda Insight ZE1 is using a 3 cylinder engine with engine code ECA1, which should be the improvement from their previous E0 series of engine, the info for this engine can be found in Wikipedia link here.

I'm not so sure if the Honda Insight in Malaysia have the ZE1 model, most we encounter in Malaysia market is the 4 cylinder LDA type of engine which is for second generation ZE2 and ZE3 model. But it may not surprise if there are customer looking for this piece of gasket if the vehicle are from our neighbour country like Thailand or Singapore.

Just stock up few pieces of rocker cover gasket at the moment, and may consider of stocking the gasket kit if it is really exist on the road of Malaysia.

  

 

Daihatsu GranMax Throttle Body Gasket

Malaysia Daihatsu GranMax model is using the 3SZ-VE type of engine, although this engine is consider in the same family range with the old Perodua MYVI or Toyota Avanza model which carry 3SZ-FE or K3-VE engine, with most of the gasket is interchangeable between this few model, but there is one piece of gasket is quite special when compare among this model.

The throttle body gasket for Perodua MYVI and Toyota Avanza model is just a normal piece of O-Ring, but the Daihatsu GranMax throttle body gasket is like the one you can see in the above photo, which it include the metal netting in the inner O-Ring portion.

Peugeot 207 Rocker Cover Gasket

 

Today post let's take a look on a very special rocker cover gasket design from a continental model, the Peugeot 207 is actually have quite few model with model with different engine, one of the engine, their rocker cover gasket is not like those conventional type of rubber gasket that we usually encounter. Instead it is made like a plastic plate like the above photo, with 2 2 small holes in the middle of the plate have o-ring fit on it.

This type of rocker cover gasket I still can't find a rather similar design for the Japanese car model engine, the best similar design should be like those in Korean model of Kia Carnival V6 type of rocker cover gasket.

Daihatsu Charade Aura Turbo Gasket Kit

 

Daihatsu is very famous for their 3 cylinder Charade series model from 1977 until their last model introduce in the year 1991, basically there are 3 engine code with CB and CD petrol engine, and also CL diesel engine, all design in 993cc or most of us will just call it 1.0.

Interestingly all model are designed as such that it is a 6 valve engine, only one model, which they will call it as Charade DOHC or in Malaysia many call it as Aura Turbo, which is design with 12 valve engine.

It is a G100 model with engine code CB-T.
