The first Nissan X-Trail in Malaysia is using the Nissan QR20DE and QR25DE engine and is introduce in the T30 model, after that the T31 model came in, with the same engine code of QR25DE, but we found there are some changes in the design of their gasket, the photo show a rocker cover gasket for Nissan X-Trail T31 model which is different from the T30 variant.
Interestingly, we found that there are one Renault model is using the same engine, the Renault Koleos 2.5, this may be during then time when Renault and Nissan become strategic alliance in the year 1999, since then there are few Nissan model come with the Renault engine and some Renault engine come with Nissan engine.
