Mitsubishi engine code 4D56 can be consider quite an old code since 1986~, which it can be found on some Pajero, Delica and Montero model.
All the while, if there are any upgrading on this 4D56 engine by Mitsubishi, it still design as a SOHC 8 valve diesel engine, until recent year, they come out with the latest upgrading, with the same engine code of 4D56, but design as DOHC 16 valve engine.
This engine can be found in the new Mitsubishi Triton 2.5 in Malaysia, by just looking at the content of the overhaul set gasket, we can know that it should be have a lot of improvement from the previous 4D56.
