Toyota RAV 4 Engine

The latest Toyota RAV 4 engine type may be well known as 1AZ-FE, which is in the same family of latest 2,400cc Camry, Harrier and Estima which carry 2AZ-FE.

But there are one more older version of RAV 4 carry the 3S type of engine, which is the same family for the Corolla ST171, Camry SXV10 type of engine, but this 3S engine still can diffrentiate by 3S-FE, 3S-GE and 3S-GTE, though the design of the cylinder head is quite similar, there are big diffrence in term on their valve cover side.

MIRA L9 SMALL PIECES ENGINE GASKET

HONDA PRELUDE H22A ENGINE

Although there are quite a lot of Honda model is not imported to Malaysia, you can still find a lot of imported engine which modified on the local model, one of the choices is H22A type of engine original from Accord and Prelude model.

Even H22A engine it self have 2 type of design cylinder head, although it look similar, but their gasket is not interchangable between 2 of them.

Honda 5 Cylinder Engine

For passenger car engine, we are familiar with the design of 3 cylinder, 4 cylinder and even 6 cylinder type of engine, it is rarely can find a design of 5 cylinder engine under the Japanese car engine technologies, but it does not mean they did not have it, Honda G20A and G25A type of engine in their Acura, Inspire and Vigor range of model is one of the best example.

Strangely other than this type of design, it is really hard to search which type of engine is using 5 cylinder design in Japanese vehicle range, unless we go for the continental type of vehicle, which you may still can find 5 cylinder design in such as Mercedes Benz MB602 or in Ssanyong engine which is derive from Mercedes Benz engine as well.

4G15 Cylinder Head Gasket

Mitsubishi 4G15 engine is very popular in Malaysia due to the Proton Saga megavalve and Proton Wira 1.3 and 1.5, the original material for this type of cylinder head gasket is normally Asbestos type and after that is Graphite after the asbestos material is ban.

Due to there are a lot of people modified the engine with Turbo spec install into it, the normal material of cylinder head gasket can not stand for this kind of high temperature and pressure.

After that, there are people trying to use metal type of gasket which they try copper and aluminium as well, but this 2 type of metal can't meet the requirement.

Finally they need to use the material which the metal type is use for the 4G6series and 4G9series of engine.

Mitsubishi 4G61-T VR4 1600CC

Nowadays there are a lot of Mitsubishi EVO fans like to install the 4G63 Turbo type of engine for their vehicles, mostly using the metal type of cylinder head gasket.

Before the 4G63 type of engine, the new generation may not aware there are evolution from Mitsubishi very first 4G61 in the year of 1987 to 1990, where by the engine capacity is only 1595cc, and the material of the cylinder head gasket is still using the graphite (carbon) type.

Other improvement you can notice is the exhaust manifold gasket which in the early day their material is using the powerbestos type and the current material already using the multi layer steel product.
