Honda City T9A, Jazz T5A, HRV T7A Timing Cover O-Ring

Is this o-ring looks special? It is found in the Honda L15B engine timing cover case,which currently use in model such as City T9A, Jazz T5A and HRV T7A, it is also found in the CRV 1.5 Turbo variant, anyone know what is the purpose to have a area design as such need to use an o-ring to seal it up?

 

Toyota IQ 1KR-FE Rocker Cover Gasket

The Toyota 1KR series of engine is quite interesting when you find more and more different type of rocker cover gasket design for each different model.

Basically 1KR series of engine have 1KR-FE, 1KR-DE and 1KR-VE of variant with DE and VE have it turbo version. 1KR-DE2 is a popular version for Perodua Axia model in Malaysia and 1KR-VET is the Perodua Ativa Turbo model. 

The photo show a very special version for 1KR-FE rocker cover gasket which found in Toyota IQ, it may looks alike with other 1KR model of rocker cover gasket but having the most holes on it.
 

Toyota Camry 2.5 Camshaft Bearing Cap Oil Hole Gasket

Most of the Toyota modern rocker cover had design that as such have the camshaft bearing cap oil hole gasket on it, in this post we take a look at the type for engine code 2AR-FXE and 8AR-FTS, which it can be found in the Camry 2.5 model.

Old version Hyundai Trajet Rocker Cover Gasket

Today let's have a look in an interesting rocker cover gasket from Korea Hyundai model, it is a gasket taken out from the Trajet model, in Malaysia market, if customer looking for Hyundai Trajet gasket, normally it is similar to the Hyundai Sonata 5 of gasket, but this time it caught us by surprise, the gasket is actually similar to the one in Naza Citra or Hyundai Elantra 1.8. 

In the content of the top set gasket, all gasket are same except the rocker cover it give us some headache, I almost can't find any info on this rocker cover gasket info when I Googling around, until I change the searching direction by looking for the rocker cover itself, only then found that there are a type of aluminium type rocker cover for Hyundai Tiburon model, which it show the rocker cover and the gasket which is same to the used gasket.

It may be just the very first batch of this engine is using aluminium type of rocker cover and it change to plastic type rocker cover for the later version. At the time of writing, I still don't know what is the OEM part number for this rocker cover gasket, it will be nice if who know the part number can put a comment in this post.

 

BYD Atto 3 "Engine" bay

As my daily jobs dealing with engine gasket, any new car model that display in show at shopping mall will attract my attention to take a look at the car engine bay and imagine how will its combustion engine gasket looks like, recently found the BYD Atto 3 is show case in one of the Malaysia shopping mall, though I know that it is an EV, but still can't stop my curiosity to have a look at its "engine" bay, of course it don't have any engine in it, and gasket suppliers may need to start thinking for their future.
 

Proton X50 Rocker Cover Gasket

 

Most of us all known that Proton X50 is using a 3 cylinder turbo engine which is use in Volvo new XC40, but still find its rocker cover design is quite unique in the aspect of its size, if by just looking at the cylinder head gasket and the rocker cover gasket, it seems the rocker cover covering area is smaller than the cylinder head gasket covering area.

Nissan VQ37VHR Valve Cover Gasket and Plug Seal

Unlike the VQ35DE series of engine, the Nissan 370Z Z34, Skyline G37 and Infinity Q50 is using the VQ37VHR engine, the rocker cover gasket may be just looks like other normal rocker cover gasket, but the plug seal is not using the 6 pieces type of oil seal type seal which use in the VQ35DE series.
