BYD Atto 3 "Engine" bay

As my daily jobs dealing with engine gasket, any new car model that display in show at shopping mall will attract my attention to take a look at the car engine bay and imagine how will its combustion engine gasket looks like, recently found the BYD Atto 3 is show case in one of the Malaysia shopping mall, though I know that it is an EV, but still can't stop my curiosity to have a look at its "engine" bay, of course it don't have any engine in it, and gasket suppliers may need to start thinking for their future.
 

Proton X50 Rocker Cover Gasket

 

Most of us all known that Proton X50 is using a 3 cylinder turbo engine which is use in Volvo new XC40, but still find its rocker cover design is quite unique in the aspect of its size, if by just looking at the cylinder head gasket and the rocker cover gasket, it seems the rocker cover covering area is smaller than the cylinder head gasket covering area.

Nissan VQ37VHR Valve Cover Gasket and Plug Seal

Unlike the VQ35DE series of engine, the Nissan 370Z Z34, Skyline G37 and Infinity Q50 is using the VQ37VHR engine, the rocker cover gasket may be just looks like other normal rocker cover gasket, but the plug seal is not using the 6 pieces type of oil seal type seal which use in the VQ35DE series.

The below photo is show this plug seal looks like. And the photo below the plug seal showing one side of the valve cover gasket for this V6 engine.

 

Nissan Primera P12 SR20VE Overhaul Gasket Kit

Nissan Primera P12 model with SR20VE engine is said to be most common engine with NEO VVL (Nissan Ecology Oriented Variable Valve and Timing).

There are another 2 type of SR series engine with VVL which is SR16VE and SR20VET, SR16VE gasket content is mostly similar to the SR20VE which there are slight different in intake manifold gasket design, and the cylinder head gasket for SR16VE is carbon material while SR20VE is multi layer steel type of head gasket.

For SR20VET the basic gasket content is exactly same with the SR20VE but may be have extra few pieces of gasket for the turbocharger side. 
 

Toyota 2AZ-FE Idle Speed Valve Gasket

Idle speed valve gasket normally is just have plain rubber seal, but for this Toyota 2AZ-FE idle speed valve gasket, which found in model like Toyota Alphard ANH10, Harrier ACU30 and Estima ACR30 have a very cool designed which one of the hole have a very unique type of metal filtration design.

Nissan Teana J32 Rocker Cover Gasket (Or Plug Seal?)

The rocker cover gasket of Nissan Teana J32 2.5 V6 engine with engine code of VQ25DE, have something different from the A32 and A33 model, in the rocker cover photo above, there are 2 extra holes pointed with the arrow, which there are 2 pieces of rubber seal needed for this place, I seen it may call as rocker cover grommet, or rocker cover gasket #2, but some of them may call it as plug seal, which I think it is not so suitable as the plug seal should be refer to the 3 holes at the rocker cover there which connected to the spark plug.

For the below photo, you may found the photo of one of the rocker cover gasket grommet, as this 2 pieces grommet in the rocker cover are with 2 different part number that can't be interchanged between them.

 

 

Chevrolet Captiva 2.4 EGR Valve Adapter Gasket

Inside the Chevrolet Captiva 2.4 gasket kit, you will found a very special gasket which looks like above photo, they call it EGR valve adapter gasket, although in Chevrolet model Optra 1.8 and the Opel Frontera 2.2 model also have similar gasket, but the Captiva 2.4 type have an extra hole that enhance with o-ring on it.

And for overseas market where the Suzuki have some joint venture model with the Chevrolet, there are some Suzuki model out there came with this Chevrolet engine. So it is not s surprise to see this items in Suzuki genuine part label packing.
