Hyundai Unique New Concept Car: I-ONIQ
Hyundai has unveiled its latest European concept car, named i-oniq, at 2012 Geneva Motor Show, showcasing new technology and design which present an impression of the company's future thinking.
The 4.4 metre long i-oniq is an electric sports hatchback with a range-extending petrol engine. Intended to convey the latest thinking from Hyundai's designers and engineers, the i-oniq evolves the Company's fluidic sculpture form language and represents bold "New Possibilities" with its futuristic powertrain.
The i-oniq concept car, designed and developed at Hyundai's European R&D centre in Germany, is an evolution of the company's signature design language, fluidic sculpture.
Hyundai's designers chose dynamic propotions to create i-oniq's aesthetic and functional body shape. Its design combines gentle feature lines and muscular surface treatment, conveying premium and atheletic qualities evident in both the exterior and interior of the car.
Mr. Thomas Burkle, Chief Designer at the Hyundai Motor Europe technical Centre, commented, "Two arched curves are the key themebehind i-oniq, creating a strong and playful contrast between sharp character lines and soft but muscular features. The profile lines of the fron fender run from front to back, emphasising i-oniq's coupe appearance, while offering maximum visibility to occupants."
Further design elements, such as the 'penthouse roof" and LED headlights, emphasise the advanced technology encased with i-oniq.
Fittingly for a sporty hatchback, the cabin layout is driver-oriented, with the dashboard and centre-console geometry based around the driver. The user interface components reflect contemporary and future consumer electronics technology such as movement control mounted on the steering wheel, floating instrument cluster with multi-layered projection, and a large background displayfor navigation, entertainment and other information.
The rear cabin area has been designed as a 'cosy lounge area' to ensure maximum occupant comfort, creating a positive contrast to the sports-orientated front area. Use of luxurious interior materials, as well as futuristic interface components, further expresses the evolution of fluidic sculpture within the car.
The i-oniq is powered by an innovative 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine generating a maximum of 45 kW (61 ps). This unit is mated to an 80 kW (109 ps) lithium-ion electric motor which is powered by a 55 kW generator, via a single ratio gearbox. In electric-only mode, i-oniq can travel 120km (74 miles) and up to 700km (435 miles) with the assistance of the petrol engine, emitting only 45 g/km of CO2 emissions. The concept can reach top speed of 145 km/h.

Nissan CVT Transmission Gear Box - how it's maintenance?
Just curious, wanted some answer from those really know this.
One of my friend is Nissan Teana owner, he proudly tell me that the new Nissan Transmission Gear Box technologies is in a close system, the gear box lubricant oil is content inside the box itself and not like those old system where it circular around for cooling purpose, of course they have their new cooling technologies for their gear box.
For instance, it seem the gear oil can't be change in normal workshop which I don't know if it is only changeable in Nissan Authorized Service Centre which they might have a special tool to do it.
And I heard from another friend which have the problem on the gear box, which the technical person tell him that this kind of gear box is unable to dismantle and do overhauling like those old type, and for his problem it is advice to change a new one, which I heard the quoted price for a new gear box is about RM50k.
But actually I'm suspecting it is not so true on their comment on how not maintenance friendly on this kind of gear box, may be it is just too new at the moment which they still don't know how about to deal with it, let see if anyone can provide a better fact on this question.

But it is not about I want to share any technical specification on it in this post, I found this video in Nissan Malaysia official website and like to share it with you.

BRZ and CRZ
Haha, just because Honda got CRZ, Subaru got BRZ, curiuos on why is they use quite a similar short name and actually what they stand for.
Ok, I just got it, simple google search found that CR-Z actually stand for ‘Compact Renaissance Zero’, details on it just click on the wiki link below,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CR-Z
Toyota 86 is the model that lead me to the BRZ info, which Toyota and Subaru jointly manufacture the concept model of FT-86.
So what is BRZ stand for? Since Subaru always famous with its boxer engine technologies, BRZ actually stand for Boxer engine, Rear-wheel drive and Z being the ultimate letter. Actually in some article also put the letter "Z" stand for Zenith.
When searching info for Subaru BRZ, I found one more related model for Subaru BRZ, which is Scion FR-S, I'm not very familliar with this model but you may browse the article at below link,
The only thing that I want to write here is what the FR-S stand for. FR-S actually is stand for Front-engine, Rear-drive, Sport.

Oh! Yes, this is free for you!
In the midst of tidy up the store condition, and found this rocker cover gasket left at one corner for quite a period, this rocker cover gasket which carry OE part number as MD020715, which use on Mitsubishi 4G51, G52B, G53B and some G54B engine.
Model such as Astron 1.8, Galant Coupe 2.0, Celeste 2.0, Plymouth Arrow 2.0, Dodge Colt 2.0, Sigma 2.0 and those 2,555cc for G54B engine.
So why is it left over in my store room? Actually Malaysia market not carry this model originally, Malaysia model of Pajero Petrol 2.6 G54B engine is using the MD024682 type of rocker cover gasket, as such, this item is not relevant in Malaysia.
Initially I'm thinking of to throw it away to clear up my store space a bit, but I think it is rather wasting of resources and not so environment friendly either.
So I decided to give out this rocker cover gasket for free for those who really need it, I'm not sure in Malaysia really don't have this type of model or not? If it does really exist, just come and get it from me free of charge. Of course for those who need me to post it, you have to pay the postage charge by yourself.
