Mitsubishi Evolution 1 to 9 is actually all using the 4G63 series of engine, although each series there may have changes on some area like on the intake manifold side, cylinder head side or even in the rocker cover side, but the 4pcs of plug seals on the rocker cover is actually never change from the Evo 1 to 8, only in the Evo 9 the plug seal have some minor changes on their design, and that is the size or thickness of the rubber that attached to the small hole which have minor modification that differentiate them.

Suzuki Kizashi J24B Rocker Cover Gasket
Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 model is using the J24B engine, which may consider the same family of engine of J20A engine which can be found in the Grand Vitara 2.0.
But the rocker cover gasket have a different type of design if compare both J24B and J20A engine, for the J20A engine rocker cover gasket, the 4pcs plug seal and the moon seal is separate from the main rocker cover gasket, while the J24B type of rocker cover gasket the plug seal and moon seal is already attached on the rocker cover gasket itself.

Ford Focus III Rocker Cover Gasket
Ford Focus III Rocker Cover have some similarity with the Mazda LF, L5 type of rocker cover, the design seem to be concluded as the same family of engine between those in Mazda 6, but you can find that on the above photo, it have an extra groove at the bottom right part of the rocker cover.

Toyota Levin 20V 4AGE Manifold Gasket
Today let's take a look on the Toyota Levin 20V 4AGE engine manifold gasket, although some may say they have differentiate by black top rocker cover or silver top rocker or may call it as 4 throttles, basically their manifold gasket consider a bit special when compare to other Toyota engine.
Have a look on the top diagram on the engine manifold and look at the second photo for their 3 manifold gasket inside a gasket kit.
The exhaust manifold gasket still consider a normal metal type of gasket design, with the design very similar to the Toyota Levin 16V which only differentiate by both left end and right end hole position.
And for this intake manifold gasket, it seems like make by the thick fibre material with metal gasket sheet on it, due to its original thickness, if one is buying the paper type of gasket, may be they need to re-use the thick fibre body.
The another layer of the intake manifold have this type of design, I'm not really know what is the technical purpose at this area, but they have the gasket with rubber seal attached in the inner hole.

The Mitsubishi 6B3 engine is a range of all-alloy V6 engines developed by Mitsubishi Motors. Currently, only one engine has been developed, a 3.0-litre V6 first introduced in the North American version of the second generation Mitsubishi Outlander which debuted in October 2006.

Characteristics
- The first of the main strategies used to achieve high output and low fuel consumption was to improve air intake efficiency by applying the MIVEC system (valve timing & lift switching-type), and also optimizing the intake/exhaust-ports in the cylinder head, and employing a variable intake manifold. The second strategy was to reduce mechanical friction by using an offset crankshaft and other technologies. The third strategy was to improve anti-knocking performance by more efficient cooling of the cylinder head/combustion chambers. The fourth strategy was to adopt twin knock sensors (for sensing & control in each bank) to optimize combustion.
- The 6B31 features an aluminum variable intake manifold that uses a resin-made 2-stage Induction Control Valve to provide the benefits of short and long intake tracts, automatically switching in response to engine speed. A flap inside the Induction Control Valve remains closed below 3,600 rpm, forcing the intake charge to take a longer route to the inlet valves. Over 3,600 rpm, the flap opens, providing a shorter tract to the valves to increase power. Positioning the EGR distribution inlet on the upper intake manifold, far from the throttle valve, improves real-world fuel consumption by lowering the temperature entering the EGR distribution passageway.
- A sophisticated electronically controlled multi-point fuel injection system ensures precision fuel delivery. The electronic throttle control system (throttle-by-wire) eliminates the mechanical linkage between the accelerator pedal and the throttle plate. Looping the fuel line around the engine improves exhaust gas performance by reducing fuel temperature differences between the delivery pipes, reducing pulsations within the delivery pipes, and suppressing variations in the amount of fuel injected. A combination of the MIVEC – a variable valve timing and lift system – and a two-stage variable intake manifold ensure a broad torque curve. The 6B31 provides nearly 90 percent of peak torque from just 2,000 rpm.
- The emissions of the 6B31 engine were reduced by the following means: optimization of intake/exhaust port design in the cylinder head; improvement in mixture charging efficiency and combustion stability by using the effect of the low-speed cams of MIVEC; improvement in combustion by ultra-fine atomization injectors; and the upstream heat capacity of the catalyst was reduced by adoption of the clamshell type exhaust manifold which has a built-in catalyst to make catalyst activation earlier.
- Another low-emission strategy is reducing the emissions of untreated exhaust gases directly discharged from the engine (or gases upstream of the catalyst) by the following measure: the setting of compression ratio at a rather low ratio of 9.5:1 to optimize the balance between performance and emission level; the reduction of unburned hydrocarbons in exhaust gases by the reduction of the volume of gaps in combustion-chambers where flame cannot propagate.
- The weight of the engine has been reduced by using aluminum die-casting for the cylinder block, cylinder heads and resin materials for the rocker cover and variable intake manifold. Other parts of the engine have also been made lighter, such as the use of a guideless oil level gauge, direct mounting of accessories to the engine block and shape optimization by CAE analysis.
- Low vibration and low noise are achieved by substantial improvement of the flexural rigidity of the powertrain (by higher stiffness of the cylinder block and oil pan), and adoption of auto-tensioner for the accessorydrive-belt, and the MIVEC system for stable combustion. Offsetting the cylinder axis of rotation in the direction of crank rotation reduces operating friction. For the air intake, lengthened ducts and optimized resonators ensure quietness and to reduce weight. A variable-valve main muffler helps reduce noise and vibration.
- For the 2010 model Mitsubishi upped the compression ratio of the Outlander's 6B31 to 10.5:1. This change adds an additional ten-horsepower (230 hp total) and 11 lb-ft torque (215 lb-ft total) to the engine's output.

Mazda LF, L3, L5 Oil Cooler Gasket
The Mazda 6, CX5, CX7 that using engine code of LF, L3 and L5 have a very special design of the oil cooler, there are 2 pieces of parts may related to gasket side, one is the metal piece of gasket and one is the rubber o-ring, so you may find where this gasket and o-ring located at the oil cooler from the photo.
As for the rubber o-ring, they have one older version of plastic type of gasket, which is similar shape with the o-ring but their material is plastic, it seems after some while Mazda may think the rubber type of material is more suitable as the sealing method on that area, hence they had change the old plastic type of gasket to the current rubber o-ring type.

Mitsubishi Evolution 6 Full Set Gasket
Previously we only import the Mitsubishi Air-Trek DOHC Full Set Gasket for the local market demand, and after that there are customer looking for the Mitsubishi Evolution 6 gasket, and we found it is similar to the Air-Trek DOHC type, indeed most content inside are same, but the Air-Trek DOHC type seems have some item missing, those Turbocharger gasket kit.
So we bring in some set of it and see what is their different, you will found that turbocharger gasket in it. Both are under 4G63 engine code and this is for Mitsubishi Lancer CN9A.

Nissan HR15DE and HR16DE Rocker Cover Gasket Kit Set
The Nissan HR15DE and HR16DE intake manifold gasket is the rubber o-ring type of gasket, unlike other engine that also use the rubber type o-ring manifold gasket, we found that the HR15DE and HR16DE (This may include the MR18DE and MR20DE case) intake manifold gasket is moving quite fast compare to other rubber type of manifold gasket.
When I quite don't understand why, I had order some rocker cover gasket kit set from KP, and interestingly found that the intake manifold gasket is included in the rocker cover kit set, which is not seen for other model.
So I wonder if the engine rocker is design as such when it is dismantle, the manifold also need to be take out? From the rocker cover gasket and intake manifold gasket diagram below, can you find the clue?

Honda new type ofl Plug Seal
When first found out this type of plug seal, is from Honda Insight model which is hybrid model, and it is from engine of L13 and L15 series of engine, so initially I thought it may be a special design of plug seal mean for this hybrid engine.
Later on, we found that from a different rocker cover, it is from a Honda Accord CR3 with K24Z series of engine, also having the same plug seal, but of course the different rocker cover gasket.
I'm starting wondering if Honda will using this type of plug seal for their up-coming model on different type of rocker cover.

Isuzu 6UZ1 Overhaul Gasket Kit
KP is more on producing the passenger vehicle of gasket, the largest CC model can be found in their catalogue most probably is the Isuzu 4HF1 model.
And for Malaysia market, the Isuzu truck is starting to change from 4H series to 6H series of engine like 6HH1 or 6HK1, which is not under the KP product range.
And from the Japanese Motor Vehicle Guidebook, found out there are one Isuzu engine model call 6UZ1 which install in Isuzu Giga, and not sure if this engine is exist in Malaysia Isuzu truck.
So just searching for the gasket online to see how it is looks like out of my curiosity, and sharing the photo for your viewing.

Nissan Skyline RB26DETT engine exhaust manifold gasket, under the Nissan genuine parts is using the graphite material, but for those racing performance modification, normally it will change to metal type of gasket for a better performance.
This is same scenario apply to Nissan RB25DET engine, but it seem for RB25DET the graphite genuine parts is still acceptable for most user.
